How to add text to an image
Choose the image
Choose or drop your photo, or start from a plain color in a post or story size.
Type and style
Type the text, pick font, size and color, and add an outline, shadow or box. Drag it into place and add more texts.
Download
Save as JPG or PNG at your image’s size, or copy and paste it directly.
For text that is easy to read
Contrast first. White text with a black outline, or a shadow, reads on any photo. On busy photos turn on “Box behind the text”.
One or two fonts. A distinctive font for the title, like Ruqaa or Lalezar, and a simple one like Cairo or Tajawal for details.
Leave a margin. Keep text off the edges; platforms sometimes crop them. “Center it” puts the text exactly in the middle.
FAQ
Will Arabic letters join correctly?
Yes. The browser draws the Arabic text itself, so letters join and it runs right to left, exactly as you type it. You can mix Arabic and English.
Are the fonts free for commercial use?
Yes. Every font here is from Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, which allows personal and commercial designs.
Can I add more than one text?
Yes. Press “New text” for each one, and tap any text in the image to edit or delete it.
Is image quality reduced?
No. The image is saved at its original pixel size and the text is drawn at that resolution. JPG at 92% quality, PNG with no loss.
Can I design without a photo?
Yes. Use “Design on a plain color” in a square, portrait, story or link-share size, then write on it.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The image stays in your browser; only the fonts are loaded from Google Fonts when you pick them.
