FAQ

Do menus need calories?

In Saudi Arabia, yes: the SFDA requires restaurants, cafés and food outlets to show calories next to each item on their menus. The tool has a field for them and adds the required statement.

How do I find an item’s calories?

By lab analysis or from the ingredients: 4 kcal per gram of protein or carbohydrate and 9 kcal per gram of fat, as the SFDA explains. We don’t calculate them; we show what you enter.

Can the menu be in Arabic and English?

Yes. Each item has a second-language name shown under the main name.

How do I print it or save it as PDF?

Press “Save PDF or print” and pick a printer or “Save as PDF”. For the dark look, turn on “Background graphics”.

Is this a QR code menu?

No, it is a printable menu and PDF. You can put the PDF on your site and make a QR code for it with the QR Code Generator.
