Cheapest web design company in Riyadh: how to compare quotes and find the real cheapest before you pay

Anyone looking for the cheapest web design company in Riyadh hits the same question sooner or later: how do I know this offer is really cheaper? The honest answer is that no official list of company prices exists. The cheapest company for you is the one that gives you what you need for the lowest total over two years, not the one with the smallest number in its advert. This guide gives you a ready-made message to send every company so their quotes can be compared, a table to work out the totals, and the checks to run before you transfer a single riyal. At Webnaa a website starts at SAR 39 a month, and at the end of the guide we answer the same message with our own numbers.

In short:

  • Don't compare the advertised number. Compare what you will pay in total over 24 months for the same need.
  • Write your need down in five lines before asking for any quote, or you will end up comparing different websites that share a name.
  • Send every company the same questions and ask for written answers. A company that dodges the ownership question or the price of an edit has given you reason enough to drop it.
  • Check the commercial registration, the written terms, the preview link and whose name the domain is in before you pay.

Why the cheapest web design company in Riyadh is hard to spot

Riyadh has hundreds of designers and agencies, and every one of them says its price is fair. The problem is not the number of choices. It is that quotes are not written in the same language. Four things make a quick comparison misleading:

  1. Most prices are not published. Many companies ask you to get in touch first, so you cannot see the number before a conversation, let alone line quotes up side by side.
  2. "A website" means different things. One quote means a single page, another five pages in two languages, a third an online store. The lowest number may simply be for something smaller.
  3. Payment models differ. A large one-off payment, a monthly subscription, or a payment followed by yearly fees. You cannot compare an amount paid once with an amount paid every month unless you total both over the same period.
  4. Life after launch is missing from the quote. Hosting, domain renewal, edits, new pages, and moving to another provider. Over two years these can cost more than the design itself.

So we suggest a three-step method: define your need, request quotes with the same questions, then total them up. It works for any company, Webnaa included, and needs no technical knowledge, just your phone's notes app and a quarter of an hour.

Before you ask for any quote: write your need in five lines

If you don't define what you want, the company will define it for you, and each company will read it differently. Put these five lines in your notes before any conversation:

  • How many pages? One page that introduces your business, or a page for each service? A real estate office offering several kinds of service needs more pages than a workshop with one service.
  • Which language? Arabic alone suits many Riyadh customers, but if part of your audience reads only English, you will need both.
  • Do you want your name in the address? An address like yourname.com in your name, or is a subdomain belonging to the provider enough?
  • Who writes the text? Do you have text and photos ready, or do you want the company to write them?
  • Who edits after launch? Do you want to edit it yourself from a dashboard, or is sending an edit request when needed enough?

These lines are what make quotes comparable. More importantly, they show you where you can save: if you don't need a dashboard, you shouldn't pay for one, and if you write your own text, you save the copywriting line. For the non-price criteria, such as the quality of past work and how a company communicates, see how to choose a web design company.

Example: a car wash owner in east Riyadh

The car wash owner wrote his five lines like this. One page is enough, with services, prices, opening hours and the location on the map. Arabic alone will do, since most of his customers live nearby. His name in the address does not matter yet; he wants a link for his social accounts and a code to print on his sign. He has photos, a logo and short texts. And he will only edit when prices change, two or three times a year. Those lines made it obvious what he does not need: a dashboard, a second language or copywriting. Any quote that adds those to the price is not the cheapest for him, however tempting its number looks.

One message to send every web design company in Riyadh

Copy this message, add your five lines, and send it by WhatsApp or email to every company you are considering. When the answers come back to the same questions, comparing becomes easy:

The message:

Hello, I need a website for my business: (number of pages), (language), (my own address or not), (text ready or not), (I edit it myself or by request). Could you please answer these questions in writing:

  1. What is the amount, and is it paid once, monthly or yearly? Is there a setup fee?
  2. What recurs after the first year: hosting, domain renewal, SSL? What does each cost?
  3. What does a simple edit cost after handover? And a new page?
  4. In whose name is the domain registered?
  5. Will I see the design on a preview link before it goes live? How long does that take?
  6. If I don't like the design, is the money refunded? On what terms?
  7. When does the site become mine, and what do I receive if I want to move it elsewhere?
  8. Can I cancel, and is there a cancellation fee?

Ask for the answers in writing, even if it is just a WhatsApp message, because what is said on a call gets forgotten. Watch how they reply, too: a company that answers all eight questions clearly and directly is telling you something about how it will treat you after you pay. One that ignores the ownership question or the price of an edit has given you reason enough to drop it, however low its price.

The comparison table: total each quote over 24 months

When the answers arrive, put them in one table and work out what each quote will cost you over 24 months. Why 24 months? Because the first year hides what recurs, and the second year reveals it.

Here is an illustrative example of three hypothetical quotes for a business that needs a small site and expects 4 edits a year. The figures are made up for illustration only, they are not real companies' prices, and amounts are in Saudi riyals:

Item (Saudi riyals)Quote A: one-offQuote B: low subscriptionQuote C: higher subscription
Setup or design fee1,500300 setup feeNone
Recurring amountNone49 a month × 24 = 1,176129 a month × 24 = 3,096
Hosting and domainYear one included, then 400 for year twoIncludedIncluded
8 edits over two years100 per edit = 80030 per edit = 240Included
Domain in your nameYesNo, a subdomainYes
OwnershipFrom the startNoneAfter 24 months
24-month total2,7001,7163,096

What does it tell you? Quote A looked the most expensive because its first number is 1,500, yet in total it is cheaper than quote C. Quote B is the cheapest over two years, but it gives you no domain in your name and no ownership. If your name and ownership matter, it is not the cheapest for your need; it is the cheapest for a different need.

Cheapest is not a number in an advert. It is the lowest total for what you actually need.

How to turn the answers into numbers

  1. Monthly amount: multiply by 24. A yearly amount, multiply by 2. A one-off payment is entered once.
  2. Setup or start fee: add it once, even if the company calls it an "activation" or "onboarding" fee.
  3. What recurs after year one: if hosting is "free for the first year", ask the year-two price and add it.
  4. Edits: estimate honestly. A restaurant owner who changes the menu every season needs more edits than a consultancy with fixed services. Multiply the number by the edit price.
  5. Unpriced items: if you did not get a price for something, write "unknown" in the cell rather than assuming zero. A quote full of unknowns is riskier than a dearer one with clear cells.

Then add two lines that are not money but often decide it: is the domain in your name, and when does the site become yours. Two quotes with similar totals are usually separated by these two lines.

Three things that flip the comparison

  • How many edits you expect. If you change offers or prices often, the edit price matters more than the design price. Double the edits in the table and watch the order change.
  • How long you will stay. A low monthly fee is great for a trial year; a one-off payment can win if you stay for years. Total over the period you actually expect.
  • The cost of leaving. If you ever want to move your site, what will it cost? An offer with no ownership may mean starting from scratch.

Check the company before you transfer anything

Once you have picked a quote, one step is left: making sure there is a real business behind it that will still be there after you pay. These five checks take a quarter of an hour:

Look up the commercial registration

Ask for the registration number or find it at the bottom of the company's website, then check it with the Ministry of Commerce's free service, Query about commercial registration data, by establishment name or unified national number.

Read the published terms

A serious company publishes its cancellation, refund and ownership terms. If you can't find them, ask for them in writing before paying, and don't settle for a verbal promise.

Insist on a preview link

Ask to see the design on a link you can open on your phone before it goes live on your address, with the right to request changes or a refund at that stage.

Confirm whose name the domain is in

After registration, check whose name the domain is in. .sa domains are run by the Saudi Network Information Center, which has a public domain inquiry (WHOIS) tool.

Pay in a way that leaves a record

Pay through a payment gateway or card that gives you a receipt, and avoid transfers to personal accounts with no invoice.

If you find no commercial registration, or a different name from the one you are dealing with, ask why before paying. It may be a freelancer working under their own name. That is not a problem in itself, but it changes what you can expect: who guarantees the refund, and who renews the domain if the freelancer disappears?

If you sent the same message to Webnaa: our answers in writing

We ran the test on ourselves. These are Webnaa's answers to the eight questions as they stand on our pricing page and in our terms and conditions. Put them in your table next to the other quotes:

  1. Amount: from SAR 39 a month on the Webnaa domain plan (one page in one language on a Webnaa subdomain). Any other site you price yourself in our price calculator by type (static or WordPress), number of languages and number of pages; a five-page static site in one language on your own domain, for example, is SAR 139 a month. Prices are shown per month but paid in advance: every 6 months at full price, or a full year with 10% off. There is no monthly payment, and no setup fee.
  2. What recurs: hosting and SSL are included in the subscription, and a custom domain is included on every site with your own domain. From year two you pay the monthly base only: SAR 39 a month for a static site, and the WordPress base shown in the price calculator.
  3. Edits and pages: a simple edit after launch is SAR 25 per request. A new page after launch is added to your subscription at its calculator price. Fixing any fault caused by our build is free.
  4. Domain: on every site with your own domain, it is registered in your name and stays yours. The Webnaa domain plan (SAR 39) runs on a Webnaa subdomain that cannot be transferred.
  5. Preview: a preview link within 24 hours at most of receiving all your information and content, with three revision rounds before launch (a round is one list of notes sent at once); an extra round is SAR 50.
  6. Refund: if you don't like the design during the design stage, you are refunded under our cancellation and refund policy.
  7. Buying the website: optional. If you want your site independent of us, you pay its value (one year at 10% off, without articles) plus an independence fee of 30% of the undiscounted year, which includes a year of hosting and the domain in your name; a five-page static site in one language, for example, costs SAR 2,001 to buy. If you subscribe and later leave, you complete the value (what you have paid counts) plus the fee. The Webnaa domain plan cannot be bought, because it runs on a subdomain.
  8. Cancelling: any time with no cancellation fee; the site stays live to the end of the paid period.

When to go cheapest, and when it is worth paying more

Going cheapest is the right call in some cases and an expensive mistake in others:

  • Go cheapest if you are starting a new business and testing the idea, if you need one link to send customers and print on your card, or if your budget is very tight this year.
  • Pay more if you pitch to companies or government entities and need your own name in the address, if you want to own your site, or if your business needs a page per service or two languages.
  • Ask for a separate quote if you want an online store, bookings or online payment. Those are different projects, starting from our online store design service with a written quote.

And if your site targets customers in Riyadh specifically, our web design Riyadh buyer's guide covers what a site needs to show up in local search and on Google Maps.

FAQ: the cheapest web design company in Riyadh

Which is the cheapest web design company in Riyadh?

No official body compares company prices, and prices change. The cheapest for you is the quote that gives you what you need for the lowest total over 24 months. Send every company the same questions and compare the answers in a table. At Webnaa a website starts at SAR 39 a month with no setup fee.

Is a cheap website lower quality?

Not necessarily. Prices usually drop because the scope is smaller, such as one page, one language or a subdomain, not because the work is worse. Ask to see the company's past work and insist on a preview link before you approve.

Should I pay in full before seeing the design?

Ask about a refund guarantee before paying. If you must pay upfront, make sure you can get a refund if you don't like the design at the preview stage, and get that condition in writing.

Is a one-off payment better than a monthly subscription?

It depends on how long you stay and what happens after launch. A subscription spreads the cost and usually includes hosting; a one-off payment can work out cheaper if you stay for years and edit rarely. Total both routes over 24 months.

What if a company refuses to answer in writing?

Treat it as a warning sign. You can summarise what was said on the call in a message and ask the company to confirm it. If it won't confirm its own words in writing, don't rely on them when comparing, and don't pay on that basis.

Do I need to visit the company's office in Riyadh?

Not necessarily. Many companies work fully remotely. What matters is that answers and terms are in writing. At Webnaa every step is remote, through a form, a preview link and WhatsApp.

Summary

Finding the cheapest web design company in Riyadh does not end at the smallest number in an advert. Write your need in five lines, send every company the same eight questions, ask for written answers, then total each quote over 24 months. After that, check the commercial registration, the terms, the preview link and whose name the domain is in before you pay. That way you find the cheapest for your need, not the cheapest on paper. Our answers at Webnaa are all published, starting from SAR 39 a month, and you can put them in the table next to the others.
