CSV Viewer and Editor

See a CSV file as a tidy table, edit it in place, and save it as CSV or Excel, no software needed.

Your files never leave your device: they are read and saved inside the browser.

How to view and edit a CSV file

1

Open the file

Choose a CSV file or drop it in the box. The encoding and delimiter are detected; change them if the text looks garbled. Or start a new empty table.

2

Search and edit

Type in the search box to filter rows, sort any column with its sort button, and tap a cell twice to edit it. Add or delete rows and columns, and undo any step.

3

Save

Save it as a CSV with the delimiter you want, or as an Excel file.

Keyboard shortcuts

KeyAction
Arrow keysMove between cells
Enter or F2Edit the cell; Enter again saves and moves down
Shift+EnterNew line inside the cell
TabSave and move to the next cell
EscCancel the edit
DeleteClear the cell
Ctrl+ZUndo the last change
Large files Only the rows on screen are drawn, so the table stays fast even with hundreds of thousands of rows. The limit is your device’s memory: files up to about 100 MB work well on a computer, less on a phone.
Your files stay on your device. Everything runs inside your browser: your files are not uploaded to any server and nothing is kept, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded.

FAQ

How do I open a CSV file without Excel?

Choose the file here and it opens as a tidy table in your browser, on a computer or a phone, with nothing to install.

Why does the text show as strange symbols?

The file was saved in a different encoding from the one used to read it. The encoding is detected automatically; if the text still looks wrong, pick another one from the Encoding list.

Does the export include only the filtered rows?

Every row by default. While you search, an option “Only the filtered rows” appears if you want to save just those.

How does sorting treat numbers?

Numbers sort by value (2 before 10), text alphabetically, and empty cells go last. You can undo a sort.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. The file is opened, edited and saved inside your browser and never leaves your device.
